1983年の発売以来、飽くなき強さを求めて進化を続けるタフネスウオッチG-SHOCKから、新たな環境テーマに取り組むため、製造過程で出る廃棄樹脂をリサイクル使用したG-5600BGです。バンドやベゼルの製造過程で出る、廃棄樹脂を粉砕加工し、練り込んだ樹脂をベゼルやバンドに採用したモデルです。ベースカラーのマットブラックに、G-SHOCKの定番カラーであるレッドとイエローの廃棄樹脂を混ぜ込み、独特のパターンを作り上げました。普段使いでも、ファッションシーンでも幅広く活用できるデザインです。ベースモデルには、蛍光灯のわずかな光でも発電するタフソーラーを搭載したG-5600を採用し、廃棄樹脂を再活用したベゼルとバンドで、環境負荷低減を目指しました。環境に配慮した素材や機能で自然との共生をカタチにしたG-SHOCKです。
